Will the Prince carry Kate over the threshold? The Royal couple finally move in to their starter home
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have finally moved into Kensington Palace, their first official royal residence as a married couple.
They have chosen to embark on married life in a ‘modest’ apartment in the palace where William once lived with his late mother.
Although their home boasts one of the most exclusive postcodes in the country, it is a fraction of the size of the five-bedroom, five-reception-room suite occupied by new neighbours, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.
Home sweet home: Kensington Palace, where the couple have moved into an apartment
And when the couple got the builders in to add a few basic mod-cons, they discovered the place was riddled with asbestos and had wiring so archaic that it was considered too dangerous to inhabit.
Until now, William and Kate have used the Clarence House apartment that the prince shared with his brother, Prince Harry, when in London.
But senior royal sources confirmed the Cambridges had moved all their furniture into the renovated Palace apartment and stayed there for a couple of nights last week.

But a 22-year-old woman has trumped them all - by growing a full-sized extra nipple on the sole of her foot.
Although one in 50 women and one in 100 men have extra nipples, according to the California-based Dermatology Journal it's the first time one has ever been discovered so far down somebody's body.
The woman told doctors she had had the unusual growth - which is almost two inches wide - all her life, and it had never caused her any pain.
Between one and five per cent of the population have the condition, known as supernumerary breast tissue.

This women has become an internet sensation after her planking prank went painfully wrong.
The unidentified woman, believed to be an American, is shown trying to pose for a planking picture in her kitchen, when the oven collapses on top of her.
Trying to be as straight as possible - as 'planking' rules dictate - the women inadvertently grabs the cooker door handle, which swings open pulling the whole thing down.
She smacks her chin on both the hob and the oven door before both human and machine crumple in a heap on the kitchen floor.
Going, going... : The door swings open and the cooker begins to head downwards as the poor woman smacks her chin on the hob
Miraculously the women escapes with only a bruised chin (and ego), and she manages to finally achieve her 'plank' by being snapped balancing the other way in the kitchen.
While the woman struggles on the floor - with the cooker on top of her - the person videoing the escapade does not rush to help, but laughs uncontrollably.
Crash down: The woman is left - miraculously largely unharmed - with the cooker on top of her after the planking attempt badly fails
The video, which has already attracted thousands of hits since it was posted on YouTube on July, has also received numerous comments.

Mahasiswi Telanjang & Mesum Di Sebuah Gubug Sawah
Ratusan warga Desa Singkil, Kecamatan Balong, Kabupaten Ponorogo dibuat geger penangkapan pasangan mesum yang tepergok sedang bertelanjang di sebuah gubuk sawah desa setempat, Minggu (17/7/2011) pukul 20.00 WIB.
Saat ditangkap warga desa setempat, keduanya sedang memadu kasih dan tanpa mengenakan sehelai benang pun di tubuhnya. Pasangan mesum itu adalah Sug (24) warga Desa Sambilawang, Kecamatan Bungkal, Kabupaten Ponorogo dan WL (20) warga Desa Bukur, Kecamatan Jiwan, Kabupaten Madiun.
Pasangan lelaki saat ini, diketahui telah beristri dan ditinggal istrinya menjadi Tenaga Kerja Wanita (TKW). Sedangkan pasangan perempuan, merupakan salah satu mahasiswi di salah satu perguruan tinggi di Kabupaten Ponorogo.
Penggerebekan pasangan mesum itu, bermula saat pukul 18.30 WIB, kedua pasangan mesum itu, sama-sama mengendarai motornya menuju pertengahan gubuk di sawah. Warga curiga lalu menguntit.
“Saat kami masuk gubuk, keduanya sudah dalam keadaan telanjang. Kami pun mengamankan pakaian keduanya. Karena kami kesal kami bawa keduanya ke balai desa,” terang Gianto, salah seorang warga kepada Surya, Minggu (17/7) malam.

Following the craze of planking which swept the internet, a website has flourished after compiling hilarious pictures of divers striking a comedy pose in mid-air before they hit the water.
With the motto, 'live and let dive', the site recommends just how to get the most out of your split-second posing.
Swim when you're winning: One diver ramps up the excitement at the country club during cocktail hour
The ideal position is achieved with a diving board, giving swimmers enough height to get their hips parallel to the waterline. If successful then it's a shot worthy of the family album or at the very least, Facebook.
The people behind LeisureDive.com encourage originality but there seems to be a couple of recurring favourite looks.
The most common is the hand on the hip, with a quizzical look and grasping a beer, book or bizarrely a croquet mallet.
